Canine parvovirus (CPV) is a contagious viral infection that affects dogs, which can exist in two different forms. The intestinal form is the most common, characterised by weight loss, lack of appetite, anorexia and vomiting. The cardiac form is the less common, this can attack the heart muscles of very young puppies often resulting in death.
