Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 9 (CXCL9) which can also be called monokine induced by gamma interferon (MIG), belongs to a family of cytokines which are known as CXC chemokines. MIG family is closely related with CXCL10 and CXCL11 chemokines, both of these are located very close to the gene on chromosome 4.
