PAEDiatric Emergency First Aid Logistics

This Paediatric Emergency First Aid Course is specially designed to equip parents, carers, and those working with children with the essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies involving children.

A paediatric emergency is any situation that requires urgent medical attention in a child - from choking and shock to burns or seizures. These incidents can be frightening and overwhelming, but with the right training, you can stay calm and take appropriate action that may save a child's life.

This course is ideal for individuals in roles involving children, whether at home, in schools, nurseries, or healthcare settings. It will teach you how to recognise and manage a range of paediatric emergencies and give you the confidence to apply first aid until professional help arrives.

About This Course

The course runs for approximately six hours and is competency-based, with no formal examination. Once completed, the certificate will remain valid for 36 months.

Training can be booked in-house or you can reserve a place on one of our open courses.

During the training, you will learn how to manage emergencies involving children who are unresponsive and breathing, unresponsive and not breathing (including how to perform CPR and use an AED on a child), as well as how to respond to choking, bleeding, burns, scalds, shock, and seizures. The course also covers the chain of survival and how to carry out a safe and effective handover to emergency services.

This comprehensive course has been developed by experts to prepare you for real-world situations. By the end, you will feel confident in your ability to assess, treat, and manage paediatric emergencies wherever they occur - giving every child the best possible chance of recovery.
